STAND WITH PEACE

It's yet another war, and war pulls hardest on a child.
So what do we do?
What do 'WE' do?
I mean us, the world, the people who go to Google for information.
The people who speed drink coffee while flipping through news channels each morning. Those of us with clean water and warm beds at night...
We, can thank God that our children are safe and healthy, but what do WE, the rest of the world do, while someone else's child is not?
While going to a platform that informs may be beneficial for gaining knowledge, what WE do with it, makes a world of difference.
A few years ago, I saw a profound quote by Mother Theresa that read, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family."
At the time, I was excited about starting a business and organizing small community projects, so while I found that quote to be especially beautiful, I hadn't faced circumstances that reflected the components of battle.
Half a decade later, life has changed and I have come to realize that battle strips a person of every triviality. Yet without a ceasefire, war then ensues and takes dignity and freedom along with it.
How many times have we seen far-off wars mirrored mildly or severely in our own lives? How often do we live on the battlefield in our places of work, in our communities, and most importantly in our own homes?
We are always searching for one absolute truth as the point of initiation for everything else without looking at the resolution that might come out of it.
The fundamental factor should not simply be truth about circumstance, but rather truth about justice.
When the loss in battle becomes greater than the 'winning prize', there can be no victors. The initial precursor on what constitutes justice no longer applies and the only true justice is for innocence stolen in the name of victory.
The fight has to be about saving children. There has never been, nor will there ever be a greater mandate than to save a child.
We no longer live in a time where it is easy to know when fact is truth and truth is fact and what we resolve to do from the core of who we are has a far greater impact than simply seeking and collecting facts.
Perhaps the only absolute truth we have left in this world, is who we are. Out of who we are comes either peace or the absence of it.
The 'TUG OF WAR' pulls hardest on a child, and we should be pulling with them, not against them.
You can be sure that when we support a side over a child's life, we are part of a very big problem in the world.
Now there may not be much you believe you can do about a war happening thousands of miles away, but you and I can start by doing something about the wars going on in our own lives. We can start by what we look at and share on social media, we can make a difference in our communities by standing up against things that incite hatred.
Ending wars around the world starts with YOU and ME.
We have the power to change things where we are right now.
Here and now is where it starts.
Here and now is where anything has ever begun.
"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." Chinese Proverb
